Ya'll, I can loose my mind over a good compote dish or pedestal bowl. It is something about the height and adding the layers and textures of different materials that just takes anything to the next level. Two of my favorite looks (and uses I have for them at Chataeu Shittay) are on the counter tops (both kitchen and bathroom) and my table.
Here is some inspiration for your home:
I really love the use of wood pedestal bowls in bathrooms, especially. They really help warm up the space and are a great place to stash extra soaps, lotions and hand towels.
I love the way they use these dishes to give the centerpiece various height levels by adding the planter on top of the dish.
Eddie Ross is THE genius in using elevation in his displays, in my humble opinion. I love the way he uses these dishes for both the biscuits and then one for the jelly/jam. (Great, now all I want to eat are biscuits.)
Like, I mean, stop and look at this! That man can take a cheese plate to places you haven't ever seen before!
What a great way to add place cards to your table.....
How do you use them in your home?
