Creating a Vintage Thanksgiving Table

I love everything about Thanksgiving.  I love waking up and waiting for Santa to make his appearance on the Macy's parade.  I love the smell of stuffing.  I love the grazing that happens from the beginning of the day to the end of the day. I love being with the ones I love.  I love having things in my life to be Thankful for...and I love everything I am thankful for.   

I have not been able to stop thinking about my Thanksgiving table.  I love mixing textures and items on my table to create an inviting and happy table for my guests.  I also love mixing “new” tableware with vintage tableware. Below you will find new and vintage picks for a perfect Thanksgiving table!

Tablecloth

I like to buy a limited number of tablecloth designs to keep in my stash and mix with vintage items. In my opinion, it helps ground the vintage items and still make them look fresh. And in my house, blue is a neutral.

Plate Chargers

I always suggest everyone invest in three types of chargers: a set or brass or gold ones, a set of natural rattan ones and a set of silver chargers. While I’d love to invest in a million more, like many of us, I just don’t have the room to store them.

Plates

I realize it is so predictable but I do enjoy a fall woodland scene or turkey late that you use year after year. It becomes such a treat each year when you pull them out to use them.

Glassware

I always manage to pick the plate and then pick the glasses. Generally, I prefer one of them to stand out and the other to blend in more. A clear glass wine goblet is timeless.

Flatware

Time to add some more texture and warmth back to the table. Consider bamboo handle flatware!

Linens

All these are missing are a lovely monogram!

Centerpiece

I generally try to keep my Thanksgiving Table free from centerpieces to keep plenty of room for the main event…the Turkey (placed, of course, on a vintage turkey platter!)
